Student Voices
In support of AR0100 that requires NUSD staff to engage with students in grades 3-12 regularly to obtain their voice and diverse perspectives on topics of interest for the betterment of their education, the Communications and Family Engagement (CAFÉ) team has compiled a quarterly report to highlight some of the opportunities for student engagement and the feedback received. It’s important to note that schools have their own mechanisms to incorporate student voices. That information is not necessarily captured in this document. This report includes some of the intentional district efforts for the period beginning August 8 – October 20, 2024.
The CAFÉ department identified more than 10 opportunities to obtain student voices in the following areas:
- Girls Mentoring with All Things Pretty at ALS
- Attendance Interviews at two schools
- Coffee with CAFE at multiple school sites
- Branding Survey
- Student Voices Advisory Council
- Annual College Fair
- Black Student Unions at LGA and IHS
