Student Login and Software Support
Teachers will be the first point of contact for student login and student software support needs. Teachers or site staff who need assistance will submit a work order using the HelpDesk system. We have multiple tech staff members monitoring and responding to work orders daily.
Student Tech Support
Families/students should contact IT if they need technical support with their district issued device. Emails and phone calls will be monitored by the technology team.
Chromebook Safety Tips
Need Families Help to Reinforce Proper Care of Chromebooks
To support students’ academic and enrichment needs, the Natomas Unified School District provides students with a Chromebook beginning in the first grade through 12th grade. Each Chromebook costs approximately $350. This price does not include the support, maintenance, and web-based tools that go along with it. We are thankful that our Board of Trustees has continued to approve this investment as part of the district’s budget to support student learning.
Unfortunately, we have been experiencing an increase in lost, stolen, and damaged Chromebooks among students, and this is where we need your help. Please talk to your student and reinforce how important it is for them to care for their Chromebooks properly. We have put together a video to help you with the conversation. You can click here to view it with your student.
The district has a policy regarding damaged or lost instructional materials (BP 6161.2) and a policy regarding student use of technology (6163.4). Both are included in the student handbook that all families receive at the beginning of the school year or when they enroll in NUSD schools. To help with the cost of repairing and replacing lost, stolen, and damaged Chromebooks, we are implementing the following steps:
- Similar to when students lose and damage textbooks and library books, families will need to pay for damaged, lost, or stolen Chromebooks.
- We will pilot Chromebook cases at varying grade levels in early spring as another added layer of protection. Thank you for partnering with us to help our students take special care of their Chromebooks, and feel free to reach out to NUSD’s Technology Support Center if you need technology support.
