Transportation

Transportation is provided for Leroy Greene Academy, Natomas Middle School, Natomas Pacific Pathways Prep (NP3), and Heredia-Arriaga School. Students with an IEP may qualify for transportation at any school site as authorized by the Special Education department.

Students may start riding the bus when you receive an approval email from the Transportation department. Applications are approved on a first come first serve basis and must be completed every school year. Due to the high volume of applications your student may be on the wait list for the entire school year.

Please have your child ready and at the bus stop five (5) minutes prior to the scheduled pick up time. The driver will continue on the route if your student is not ready. It is your responsibility to watch for the bus.

Yes. Students grade 1-12 who have been approved for transportation through the school bus application will be released from the bus at designated stops without a parent/guardian present. 

Students approved through the Special Education department are required to be met by a designated adult, unless the Transportation office has approved a Special Education Transportation Waiver. Students with an approved waiver will be released from the bus without a parent/guardian present. A new waiver is required for every school year.

Students PK-K require a designated adult to receive them at their designated stop.

Due to absenteeism the drop off time will vary. If your student must be met, be prepared to receive your student at any time after school is dismissed. If no one is at the stop, the student will be returned to school and it will be your responsibility to pick up your student at that time.

Yes, if your student has been approved for transportation through the Special Education department. Students who have been approved through the school bus pass application are not required to notify the Transportation department.

If required, please notify the Transportation department any time your student will not be using transportation services. Students will be dropped from transportation services if the Transportation department is not notified after five (5) consecutive days.

Students who only ride only in the morning or the afternoon will be dropped from the transportation service they are not using after five (5) consecutive days.
 

For students approved through the Special Education department, home address changes must be made by your school site. Once your school site has updated your address, please contact the Special Education department.  Daycare changes must be approved by the Special Education department.

Students approved through the school bus pass application may update their designated bus stop by contacting the Transportation department.
 

The safest possible lifts and wheelchair securement equipment have been purchased for the transportation of your student. It is your responsibility to maintain the brakes and restraining belt on the wheelchair per 13 CCR § 1293(g).
