What's New for 2026-2027

New Visitor Management System

Dear Parents, Guardians, and Community Members,

Natomas Unified School District is committed to maintaining safe and secure learning environments for all students and staff. As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance campus safety, we are pleased to announce the implementation of the Raptor Visitor Management System at all school and district office locations.

Beginning with the start of the 2026-2027 school year: 

  • All visitors entering school sites will be asked to present a valid government-issued photo identification at a designated visitor kiosk. The identification will be scanned into the Raptor system to verify the visitor's identity and compare limited information against a national database of registered sex offenders.

  • All visitors at the district office will be asked to present a valid government-issued photo identification at a designated visitor kiosk. The identification will be scanned into the Raptor system to verify the visitor's identity. This information will not be compared against a national database.

Once approved, visitors will receive a printed badge displaying their name, photograph, date, and purpose for visiting. Visitors must wear the badge while on campus and return it to the office upon departure to complete the sign-out process.

The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our highest priorities. The Raptor Visitor Management System provides an additional layer of security by helping schools accurately identify visitors and maintain awareness of who is present on campus during the school day.

Protecting Visitor Privacy

The Raptor Visitor Management System is designed with privacy in mind. The system only uses the visitor's name, date of birth, and photograph for the screening process. Additional information contained on an identification card is not collected, stored, or accessible to school personnel through the Raptor system. The system is not connected to any other database beyond the registered sex offender screening function.
