Transfer Options

LIVE in the NUSD district and want to attend a different NUSD School 

OPEN ENROLLMENT TRANSFER

Long-term transfer valid through twelfth grade.  No reason is required to request the transfer other than parent preference.  

Application period is September 15 until November 30 prior to the year requested.  Click HERE to submit the request.

INTRADISTRICT TRANSFER

A one-year short-term transfer available for specific reasons and valid for the next school year.  Reasons Include:

  • Childcare (TK-8th grade only)
  • Intent to move
  • Parent employment
  • Academic program

Application period is from March 1 through April 30 prior to the year requested.

If you have moved please contact the school office or the Welcome Center so we can help facilitate next steps.

 

live outside the district and want to attend a Natomas Unified school
INCOMING INTERDISTRICT TRANSFER

Application must be accessed at your resident school district (i.e., Twin Rivers Unified, Sacrament City Unified, Roseville Joint, Etc).  Transfers are available year-round.

Each school district has their own policies and practices.  Applicants must be approved for release by their resident district AND then approved for enrollment by Natomas Unified School District.

Live in the NUSD and want to attend a school in another district

LEAVING INTERDISTRICT TRANSFER

Applications must be turned in to the Welcome Center or ITPSTATUS@natomasunified.org.  Approval to be released from Natomas Unified School District must meet governing board criteria.  Transfers are available year-round.  

Applicants must be approved for release from Natomas Unified and then approved for enrollment by the requested school district.

Heredia-arriaga school Interest Form

To be considered for enrollment at Heredia-Arriaga School click HERE to complete the interest form for the current school year.  The 2025-2026 Interest form will be available on January 15, 2025.

Larry G. Meeks Academy Interest form

General Transfer Information
  • Processing time varies depending on the type of transfer, the volume of requests, and student records requests.
  • Students who are attending a NUSD Charter school will need to complete an online registration to transfer/enroll in a non-charter NUSD School.
  • All transfers are subject to space availability at the school, grade level and/or specialized program need. Resident student enrollments will take priority over transfer students.
  • Enrollment in a requested school does not guarantee approval to remain.
