Parent University

Parent University is a community collaborative led by Natomas Unified to help parents become full partners in their children’s education. We partner with community agencies and organizations to offer free courses, family events and activities that will equip families with new or additional skills, knowledge, resources, and confidence.

"I got so much out of the Parent University Love and Logic Class. I didn't know what to expect, but it has made a world of difference in how I approach a situation with my child. The tools have been invaluable," said Participant of the 2024 Love and Logic Series.

Highlights of Some Parent University Offerings

Helping Students Transition to College

The transition from high school to college can be stressful for students and parents. Each year, Parent University partners with American River College and other agencies to provide sessions related to preparing students for college.

Meaningful Family Time with Sac Republic

As part of the Put Your Device Away Series coming the 2024-2025 school year, Parent University partnered with Sac Republic to host a fun and engaging soccer clinic for the entire family as a teaser of what's to come. The goal is for families to bond and spend more time with each other and less individually with technology.

Using Love and Logic to Parent Course

The Love and Logic Series is one of Parent University's most popular offerings. It's a 6-week course that teaches parents how to parent in love and to get better results with the techniques and tools they learn in the class. The video has testimonials from participants and from the facilitator, one of NUSD's Psychologist.
