Tips to Support Reading at Home

Make Reading a Routine and a Habit:

Read aloud regularly: Even 15 minutes a day can make a difference.
Establish a consistent reading time: A routine, like before bedtime, can make reading a comfortable habit.
Make it a special time: Create a comfortable and enjoyable reading space, perhaps with blankets, pillows, and good lighting.

Engage Your Child in the Reading Process:

Let them choose books: Allow your child to pick books that interest them.
Read with expression: Use different voices, sound effects, and gestures to bring the story to life.
Ask questions: Engage your child by asking about the characters, events, and their predictions about what will happen next.
Connect the story to their lives: Relate the story's themes and characters to your child's own experiences.

Create a Supportive Environment:
